Elliot sent me an sms this afternoon just after I arrived home informing me that he expected to be late home as he was "at the hospital being stitched up, but don't worry, it's nothing serious". Honestly..."being stitched up" kinda equates to something serious, doesn't it ??
Well anyway, rather than worry myself sick about it I just assumed he'd be fine and waited till he got home to find out what happened. All I could think was that it's a good thing I am not in labour, as I was (with Toby) when my exhusband called from the hospital to inform me he would be late home because he had just been run over by a forklift !
It seems poor Elliot slipped with the angle grinder at work and put it into his thumb near the knuckle. We're not sure of the extent of damage yet because it was too painful for the doc to have a good look, so he has to go back to the doctor on Friday to have it checked out. There is a chance though that he has chopped into one of the tendons in his thumb.
He says its still quite numb, but it's painful as well, so we're off to the chemist later to get some stronger painkillers for him. I imagine I am going to have a 34-year-old baby on my hands for the next week or so.
Well, that's our news for the day. I'm off to the hairdresser tomorrow -- stay tuned for pictures of my BRIGHT PINK hair !!
