Well, today I had to leave work early and go to the doctors. I have been feeling a bit off for the past week or so, and have had a few brief dizzy spells, but today I had one that wouldn't go away. I was too scared to drive, so I got my workmate Dimmy to drive me to Mum's house, and mum drove back with her to collect my car.
Until today the dizzies have only lasted a few minutes at a time, though I have also been having day-long hot flushes accompanied by extreme fatigue. We didn't even do anything for my birthday because I felt so off (gives me an excuse to extend my birthday another couple of weeks till we do something to celebrate LOL).
Anyway, back to the dizzies...I went to the docs this afternoon, and apparently I have fluid in my inner ear and a slightly pink throat. He prescribed some antibiotic tablets and some Rhinocort nasal spray (bloody $29.95 a bottle !!!!). Hopefully the medication will make the dizzies go away very soon.
The doc also weighed me -- 82kg -- which means I have only put on 3kg since I found out I was pregnant ! I am pretty sure though that when I weighed myself at Rach's house the other week that I was 84.2kg, so maybe I lost 2kg since then ? Either way, the doc said that was fine, and Bubba is VERY active, so I am not concerned (and am feeling slightly less whale-ish now). My fundal height (for anyone who cares to know) is 31cm. My belly button hasn't popped out yet (for which Elliot is extrememly grateful), but it won't be long now I don't think. The doc listened to Bubba's heartbeat through one of those little plastic trumpet thingies and he said that Bubba has a strong heartbeat. He also managed to get kicked in the head by Bubba when he was listening too LOL.
Speaking of kicking....I SWEAR this baby is building something in there (either that, or it's practicing for the Olympic swim team) ! The little dearheart doesn't seem to stop kicking me lately, and I am getting seriously pummelled from the inside almost all of my waking hours ! Even Elliot got a kick in the back the other night as I snuggled up to him.
So, apart from my dizzies and hot spells, I am doing well. Baby is apparently very well and healthy, which is fantastic. Toby and Elliot are also both well and happy, and life in our household is good !
Hope you are all well and happy. Make sure you check back here every so often if you think of it because I don't always send an email when I add a post. And please, we'd LOVE to hear from you, so be brave and leave us a message too (click the 'comments' link beneath the post you wish to reply to; type in your message; select 'other' {unless you are a blogger} and type in your name; press OK; and voila !).
Will write again soon....
