Miss Dimmy and I were also discussing birthday cakes recently (can you tell we get really busy at work ??) because Miss Fleurie posted pics of the fabulous treasure chest cake that she made for her son Lauchie.
Dimmy asked me to bring pics of the cakes I have made, but I thought I would post them here because I had promised a few others that I would show them too. I actually can't find pics of most of the cakes I have made (I think they are packed away still from when we moved into this house).
Here are a few pics that I did manage to find. The dalmation was my first cake and I think it turned out the best. It was for Toby's 1st birthday. Pikachu was for Toby's 6th birthday I think. Shrek was for his 7th birthday.
The other cakes I have made are:
> Marvin The Martian (just his head)
> Cricket bat & ball (the 'stitching' on the ball was yellow sprinkles that I applied with a pair of tweezers !)
> The Batman symbol
> A teddy bear's head
> A fire truck
> A butterfly (not for Toby)
> A fairy (not for Toby)
I really like making novelty cakes and I will enjoy making them again for our new little boy. If I happen to find pics of any of the other cakes I will be sure to post them.

You've done a great job on them over the years Cin...we expect big things of you now!!
You know, my mom and my grandma both have always been big into cake decorating. They have made many a wedding cake for people. They have also always made my kids their cakes. So that I have NEVER made one for my kids! I am a bad mommy huh?!
Your cakes are very cool! I love that you are so creative, even with CAKES! I am so glad I get to be friends with you, you are so cool! LOL :)
