Today we had another Health Centre visit. Pam (the nurse) was very pleased with Kade overall and was thrilled that he is so alert and responsive. He laughs and coos and almost seems to 'talk' when you speak to him and she seemed quite surprised that he is as vocal as he is already.
In the two weeks since his last visit Kade has put on 1lb 15oz and now weighs 10lb 14oz. He has also grown 3.5cm and is now 59cm long ! She estimates he will be about 6' tall when fully grown (I am 5' 6" and Elliot is 5' 9" I think). She also said that Kade is teething, and she expects he will have at least one tooth in about two months.

She said she could feel the bottom right lateral incisor, the bottom left lateral incisor and the upper right lateral incisor.
So anyway...he's doing well. Oh, and I have decided to put him onto formula permenantly seeing he is doing so well. Expressing for half an hour at a time to yield a total of 20-30ml is more hassle than it is worth. If I was getting more milk I would continue to express or breastfeed, but I'm not. Even drinking loads of water doesn't help at all -- it just makes me go to the bathroom a million times a day again like when I was pregnant ! I've done my best and I have tried, I can't do any more than that. I am disappointed, but I was obviously not built to breastfeed *sigh*.

While we were there I also did my EDPS score (Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale) and I got ZERO (that's the best score you can get).
So there you go, that's today's update !

Well he is getting big! :) I think he will be fine, mama! You breastfed and that is important! I think you need a pat on the back for that! :)
I can't believe he is teething already!
You need to get a time ticker like mine for Rae so I can remember how old Kade is! hehe
I'm still very much doubting the teething thing!!! Matisse's MCHN said the same thing and NONE of her teeth poked through till she was about 9 months old!!
YEY for your Zero. When I did that test I got 22, so you're FANTASTIC!!
I've given Charlotte a good talking to about the fact that Kade is now Bigger then her!!! *rolleyes* Typical slow poke she is!!
Congratulations on achieving a ZERO, good girl!
Kade is such a super boy! What a clever little pumpkin he is. He does seem to be very advanced for his age with all that back chat.

Glad to hear you are both doing well, also pleased to see all the gifts posted on your blog that you have received for Kade, we havent noticed the gifts that we painstakingly chose and made for him I would imagine it is because you have forgotton as we wouldnt for one moment suspect you of being nasty.
OMG, NO we would never be nasty and not do that, he just isn't big enough to wear the clothes you sent him yet. Trust me, as soon as he can wear that cute little outfit we'll take some pics !
I haven't tried to scan or photograph the beautiful cross-stitch you made Pauline, but I imagine it won't come out well given the depth of the frame and the glare off the glass. I'll try though...
Excellent, love it! » »
