Well...I am sure it's official....

My baby has to be the most beautiful baby in the whole wide world ! He truly is the sweetest little thing.

We're doing much better now that my milk has come in. Kade generally feeds anything from three to five hourly (five hourly last night -- woo hoo !) and is gaining weight. The health nurse visited on Thursday and said he had lost 310 grams (almost 10% of his birthweight). Another nurse visited again today (Saturday) and he has put on 120 grams since Thursday, so all is well.

He had his second bath on Thursday evening, and while he wasn't thrilled about it, he didn't do too badly. He quite liked being held on his tummy, so I think a nice deep bath might be in order for tonight. He is getting better with having his nappy changed too, though he still really doesn't like having his clothes off.

We have had loads of visitors over the past 5 days and are expecting more today as some of the girls from The Craft Attic have said they'll call in. Anyone else who is wanting to visit is certainly welcome to, any time. Just give us a call and check that we'll be home.

Elliot went back to the hand therapist this week. He still has to wear his splint as he has been and has to go back for another appointment in a fortnight. He is off work for another 2 weeks at this stage. He is gradually regaining the use of his hand, but it is a slow process that really can't be rushed for risk of snapping the tendon again. He can just manage to touch his thumb to his middle finger. As yet he has been unable to change Kade's nappy because he can't hold his little legs and change the nappy all at the same time. He does, however, rush to assist me by bagging the dirty nappy and handing me nappy wipes etc.

Personally, I think Elliot has taken to fatherhood like a duck to water. He is a fantastic support to me and does everything he can to ensure that I am rested and comfortable. He has been cooking dinner and doing housework; boiling bottles and my breast pump to sterilise them; making up formula; and spoon feeding me my dinner (as I feed Kade) so that I am able to eat it while it is still hot. AND...he does all this without me even asking !! I feel very blessed to have such fantastic support, and Kade is very lucky to have such a great daddy.

Speaking of dad's... My dad and stepmum Dianne are currently visiting from Queensland. My cousin Leigh is marrying his fiancé Corrinne today, and Dad & Di have come down to attend the wedding (and to meet their new grandson, of course !).

CONGRATULATIONS to Leigh and Corrinne (sorry we couldn't make the wedding).

Anyway, thats all the news for now. Will post some more pics of my angel baby soon (gotta change our blog banner now too !!).
