Brave boy !

Well...after a botched first attempt on Thursday, Toby got his lip ring done (again) today. I reasoned that it's his body - his choice. I also figure that if he wants it done badly enough he'll do it himself anyway, so I'd much prefer it be done properly. I personally have no problem with it except for the worry that he'll catch it on something and pull it out. His school is going to crack down on facial piercings next year so he probably wont have it after that, or will have to wear an invisible stud on the inside.

Anyway...here it is. The cones/barbs unscrew and can be replaced with balls. That's also how you get the ring in and out.

On Thursday the girl let go of the stud so it came out and the hole closed immediately. It bled LOADS too (he had it all over his hands and down his tshirt). The hole was at least 1cm below his lipline - much too far down in my opinion (you can see the hole in the top pic to the right of that big zit LOL). The girl clearly had no idea what she was doing so it was probably a blessing in disguise. I hadn't gone in with him because there were too many people upstairs....it turns out there wasn't even a dedicated piercing room. If I'd known any of that I'd have told them thanks but no thanks.

So anyway...today we went to another place. They were kind, professional, informative and helpful. And Toby now has his piercing with the jewellery he wanted too !
