Well, Toby and I had a fantastic day shooting the tv commercial. It was a long day, but really interesting and something I would definitely do again given the opportunity ! I wasn't nervous at all (which surprised me), though I did feel a little self-conscious when Toby and I filmed our 'morning breakfast' scene. Toby admitted he was a little nervous, but you'd never have guessed.
Brekky and lunch was provided. Some of the crew went out and bought us coffee and pastries for breakfast (thanks Emily & Amanda), and for lunch we had gourmet wraps. We were given strict instructions that today was our day to relax and be waited on, so all our coffee/tea was made for us (thanks Kate), hair and makeup done (thanks Julie & Fiona) and clothing ironed.
The shoot was at a private residence, which was also where a lot of the movie 'Underbelly' was filmed. I'm not sure how much I can and can't say about the day or shoot location, so I'll simply say that the house was beautiful and I felt very privileged to be there.
All the crew were awesome to work with and really made us feel comfortable and at ease. Our director (Andy) continually cracked jokes, and the camera crew and 'sound guy' all made us laugh. And just like you see on tv, when the camera stopped rolling the makeup artists whizzed in to fix our hair and de-shine our noses and foreheads. Our presenter Elissa was so lovely and so professional - I don't know how she managed to remember her questions because I couldn't remember them past the third word !
The other Networkers, Kelly and Kathryn, were very friendly and all of our kids did so well to play together unsupervised for the first half of the day without any arguments, injuries, or whingeing. At one point they were all outside making up dance routines to the music on one of the girl's phones - pretty funny to watch when we couldn't hear anything from inside :D
So...all-in-all I'm really pleased with the day's events, and for anyone considering having a go at this themselves, I really recommend it !
