Catch up

PHEW ! It's been a busy couple of weeks.

On Friday 7th March I completed my Certified Fiskars Demonstrator Training. I was so brave and drove myself all the way into head office in Port Melbourne. We had a great day learning about the different divisions and history of company; playing with tools; and getting sneak peeks at new products being released over the next few months. I came home with a bag full of goodies, as well as some new papers that Toby has to use, with the finished product possibly being featured in Dolly magazine.

On Wednesday 13th March I did my very first Fiskars demonstration - all day at the Melbourne Stitches & Craft show ! Sarah picked me up (thanks darlin') and we went together, arriving at 9:30am. Before I knew it it was lunchtime, and when I blinked again it was 3:50pm - almost time to go home ! I had a FANTASTIC day and really, really enjoyed myself.

Being only a new demonstrator I don't yet have many Fiskars tools, and therefore am still mastering the use of them myself. In saying that, I am very proud to say that every single person I demonstrated our Ultra ShapeXpress to managed to successfully cut themselves at least one butterfly (which is not the easiest shape to cut first go !).

All hand stitched; lots of dimension with flowers on foam tape and the bunny on chipboard; gorgeous lasercut felt alpha (available from Remember When) highlighted with rhinestones; hand cut photo corners and flowers.

I also made a couple of cards yesterday, but I've not taken pics of them yet.

Today Leanne and I spent most of the day running around Frankston looking for Easter Egg chocolate moulds so we could make chocolate crackle Easter eggs. We couldn't find the size we needed anywhere, but did manage to 'make do' with another idea, which turned out great ! No pics yet because they aren't finished and I don't want to ruin the surprise for anyone who'll receive one. We'll finish them on Saturday, as well as make some shortbread and rum balls ~ YUM !

Well, I think that's about it for now... Toby and I have a very busy day ahead of us tomorrow. He will be working from 10:00am till who-knows-when, and I will be working from about 4:00pm till we close. We both work again Saturday night, and I am also rostered for Sunday night.
