Mummy's night out

Nat, Jodie and I went out last night -- WITHOUT OUR BABIES !! WOO HOO (Sarah was supposed to come too but was not feeling well).

While I loved being out with the girls, the night (for me), was a disaster...here's why...

We went to Fratelli's for dinner. I ordered oysters kilpatrick for entree. When it arrived I thought it looked and smelled a bit odd. Suspicious, I inspected it before just tucking in. One of the oysters literally looked as though it had been chewed and spat back into the shell, but was cleverly disguised with bacon pieces. Another, I struggled to actually FIND an oyster in the shell. The third one I ate, but it didn't taste right. I said to the girls that it tasted bad and could they smell the 'dirty sport socks' smell that I could smell ? They could. I called the waitress over and told her to smell it (she screwed her nose up). Of course I said I was not eating or paying for it. After they were taken away we realised how bad they actually smelt ! *gag*

Anyway...the rest of the meal went on uneventfully but I am NEVER going there again ! We even managed to get Nat to unwind a little and have a tiny bit of wine (she's still breastfeeding). Afterwards we went to Flannagan's and had a drink but we didn't stay long because it was so crowded and smokey and loud.

I got home at about midnight I think. I went to check on Kade and he was sitting up in his cot, looking at me. I layed him back down, but he continued to wake and cry every 15-30 minutes. I couldn't settle him, even putting him into bed with me. At 1:40am I decided I would take him for a drive to see if that would settle him. It did, till we got home... I gave him a bottle at about 3:30am and at 4:00am he finally fell asleep ! So...after only a few hours sleep I feel like crap and I feel a bit queasy after minor stomach pains early this morning.

I don't know why Kade wouldn't settle last night. Maybe it was because it was so hot and humid... Maybe because I had left him at home with Daddy and the change in routine threw him... Of course, he's as bright as a button this morning and just stole a piece of my toast !

On a happier (??) note, Kade decided yesterday that he's had enough of commando crawling and crawls properly all the time now.

I hope you all have a nice weekend :) Wish me luck for a better night's sleep tonight, and hope that it's not hot enough for next door to run their aircon all night again (it's kept me awake the past few nights).
