It's suddenly becoming very clear to me that Toby is not a little kid any more. I think having Kade magnifies it a lot too because Toby REALLY seems so much bigger to me now.
Maybe TMI (too much info), but the other week he was 'scratching himself' and when I raised my eyebrows at him he said in a very annoyed tone that his hair is growing and making him itchy. It was so funny.
The other night we were brushing our teeth and I was standing behind him in the bathroom. He didn't have a tshirt on and it made me notice how broad his shoulders are getting. He is only a couple of inches shorter than me now and his shoes are bigger than Elliot's !
Yesterday I took him to the local high school for a tour. How is it that it is almost time for my baby to be heading off to high school ??? I felt as though it should have been ME going to the school, not him... I actually told him that I'd love to go back and finish years 11 & 12. He said that would be cool so long as I didn't want to hang out with him and his mates, and so long as I didn't mother him in front of everyone LOL. I suppose it's ok for me to be his mum though to drive him to school and give him money for the canteen ?? Why does time pass so quickly ??
Elliot changed his first nappy last night ! He started picking at the side of the nappy to undo it and couldn't work out why bits of plastic were tearing off and why it wasn't coming undone...then I showed him the tabs LOL. If he had waited another 10 minutes he would have had the pleasure of changing a pooey nappy. Actually, with the amount of gagging he was doing just by assisting, I don't think he could have managed to changed a pooey nappy by himself !??
Kade and I are doing well and I am really loving motherhood the second time around (I loved it the first time too of course !). I love to sit and cuddle my baby and cover his face with kisses. He is starting to coo now and it sounds so cute. He also makes faces and stickes out his tongue. He is nursing well, though he still has his moments where he fusses and carries on and wont suckle and then works himself up into a tizz. When this happens I relent and give him a bottle instead (expressed or formula if I don't have expressed) and he is fine.
One thing I had forgotten is how much of my day is taken up with nursing, and how I have to try to schedule everything around feeds. I am so glad that Elliot got to be home with us for a couple of weeks to see that I do actually do more than just sit on my butt all day ! Of course, he would never have a go at me for being slack and not having all the housework done, but at least I don't have to feel guilty about it. Yesterday I fed Kade, got up and showered, took Toby for the high school tour at 11:30am, dropped him at school, came home and made some lunch and ate it, unloaded the dishwasher and then fed Kade. There wasn't a minute's break in there at all and if I hadn't made lunch when I did I wouldn't have eaten till either Elliot made me something, or I finished feeding Kade at about 3pm. There wasn't even time to reload the dishwasher and I was expecting a visit from Fleur at any moment ! Thankfully, Elliot finishes work early on Fridays and managed to get home and finish tiding the kitchen for me before she arrived.
Anyway, the little Mister is overdue for a feed (he is snuggly and warm inside the front of my dressing gown and hasn't woken yet) so I better go and wake him and do that. Hope you are all well. More updates soon :)

I'm so dissapointed that we didn't get to catch up Friday (something does NOT want us to go for that damn Walk!) I want a Kade cuddle! This week for sure!!!
And Toby - if your reading this: STOP GROWING!! Kade you can have a few more weeks before you have to stop too (once the sleeping kicks in a bit nicer!)
Having a baby does make your other children seem SO BIG! I was amazed at how big mine all seemed with each next baby! LOL
I am glad you are doing so well!!
I popped in to say hey and goodness look at all the blogging I missed. You are looking so well Cindy and sounding content. Happy birthday wishes (belated I am sorry) to Elliot... Sending you all our best..
