After four days I am finally home from hospital !
As you would already know, I had surgery on Dec 23 to remove pre-cancerous cervical cells. I was recovering exceptionally well, or so I thought, until last Friday (Jan 2) when I suddenly and without warning began hemorrhaging. I have to admit, I was a bit scared...so off the A & E we went.
Thankfully, I didn't have any pain except when they used a pack to try to stop the bleeding, and then I bawled it hurt so much !
I won't go into detail (because you probably don't really want to know), but it wasn't nice. I even passed-out for the first time ever ! Lisa (the nurse) was about to take me for a wash so I got out of the bed and into a wheelchair. I began to feel REALLY dizzy and went to put my head between my knees...next thing I knew I woke up laying back in bed with an oxygen mask on my face and about 20 people peering down at me calling my name like they do in the movies ! I cried then too because that was pretty scary :(
Anway...I'm home now and I'm ok. Providing I don't hemorrhage again I'll be fine, but if I do, it'll be back in for surgery. I have to see the specialist on the 15th so hopefully he'll give me the 'all clear'.
I know they'll never read this, but THANK YOU SO MUCH to the wonderful A & E staff who looked after me. The three nurses I had were wonderful {thank you Pat, Lisa and Brittney (?)}, and Ken the orderley who told me jokes to make me laugh, picked me up when I collapsed, and held my hand when I cried. Also to Marylouise, just one of the ward nurses who took care of me.
And without meaning to make it all sound so much worse than it was...to my family:
Sorry for mucking up your visit Dad, I hope that you've recovered from your own illness.
Thank you to Elliot for bringing the kids in to see me.
Thank you to mum and Jens for looking after Kade for us.
Thank you to my beautiful sister Kim for washing my hair for me and being by my side.
Thank you to my other mum Judy and my bestie Leanne for rushing to be with me.
xoxo
