Deal of the year !!

Elliot and I went out today to buy Toby's 13th birthday present - a new TV. We had already looked in a few stores yesterday to compare prices, but decided to check out Target {seeing as we were there} just in case.

It turned out they had prices similar to another store, but we wanted to have a chat to a staff member anyway to confirm that the items we were looking at matched the price tags sitting in front of them. It was all a bit confusing; with a couple of items featuring the same code number and several with clearly the wrong price tags. Add to that two different items with the same bright orange SALE price tags stuck to the shelf the TV's were sitting on.

When the salesman arrived we queried the correct prices for the SALE tagged items, as one had an in-built DVD player and the other did not. He informed us that the TV with the DVD player was incorrectly tagged, but that because the tag was attached to it, they would honour the price. He scurried away to find a scanner and we waited...

While we waited, a second salesman appeared. Thinking he'd stitch us up and not honour the SALE tag as the other salesman had promised, we assured him we were being attended to. He insisted on helping us anyway, asked us what TV we were interested in (we pointed to the one with the DVD player), scanned the SALE tag and hurried off to bring us back the TV.

When he returned we pointed out that the box he had did not contain the TV we had requested. After a bit of investigation he realised that the SALE tag was for a different TV...but he said that because that was the ticketed price on the TV, that was the price we'd pay !!

SO....we bought a $599 TV/DVD for $359 !!

YAY !!
