Australian Governement DO NOT CALL Register

Woo hoo !! We can now put a stop to those pesky telemarketers. You can register up to 3 numbers, both landline and mobile numbers.

The Do Not Call Register allows you to reduce the number of unwanted telemarketing calls you receive. Once you register your home phone or mobile numbers, telemarketers are required, by law, to stop calling you. Telephone numbers can be registered only if they are used primarily for private and domestic purposes.

Some public interest organisations, such as charities, political parties and educational institutions, are exempt from these laws and are allowed to make calls to numbers listed on the register. These exemptions are in place to ensure these organisations can continue to provide services to the community.

The Do Not Call Register Act 2006, makes it illegal in the absence of consent for any non-exempt telemarketer in Australia or overseas to contact a number listed on the register. Certain public interest organisations are still allowed to make calls to phone numbers listed on the register. Exemptions exist so these organisations and individuals can continue to provide services to the community. Under the Do Not Call Register Act 2006, telemarketers can check their calling lists against the Do Not Call Register. If a telemarketer calls a number on the Do Not Call Register, they may be in breach of the Act, and may face penalties of up to $1.1 million.

Exempt organisations include:

* charities or charitable institutions
* educational institutions
* religious organisations
* government bodies
* registered political parties
* independent members of parliament
* political candidates.
* market and social researchers will still be permitted to call when
conducting opinion polling and standard questionnaire-based
research. However, these calls are subject to the industry
standard for telemarketing and research calls

Thank you so kindly for having the "Do Not Call Register" on your blog! I had no idea where or what to do about putting my name down for this... Don't know if Stephen did or not... but we are being bombarded by telemarketers...

Whoo hoo Kade... he'll be running before long... & you'll be chasing after him...lol. He's a big boy for sure... Sitting there in Elliot's hands, he looks a very big boy. LOL at Toby saying he's better 'cause he started walking much sooner...

congrates to you & Elliot on your wins... great stuff. This year, I've won a kit from M&M for a layout done during the April Fools Mega Crop session.

So sad that I have so much to do & not enough energy or time in the day to do it all. some things just have to take the back burner.

Talk to you again soon,
Caron

Yes, I agree, but have you tried taking photos of a teenage boy ? And when you ask them how their day was, the stock-standard answer is "alright". You ask what they did and they always reply "not much". LOL I promise I do put info and pics of Toby up as often as I can :)
