Well, sadly, my 3.5 weeks holiday has come to an end and I go back to work tomorrow :(
I am grateful for the break that I have had (only break since Christmas last year), though I really don't feel as though I have done much. The first 2 weeks were spent being sick, and the remainder was spent catching up on housework !
It's not all bad really...I did manage to go out a few times... I did a bit of shopping for the baby on a few occasions. I also had coffee with my friend Willisa at the scrapbook shop, and took Toby and Mum to see "Nanny McPhee" earlier this week. We all really enjoyed the movie, and it is one that I would consider getting on DVD when it is released. I drove to Melton (hour and a half away) to see my Nanna & Poppa this week too. It was good to see them (we don't get there as often as we'd like to), but I don't know that I could manage the trip too often. On the way home I was SO busting for the toilet that I had to stop off at Mum's hehehe.
Elliot and I have had fun using the breadmaker he bought me for Christmas. We have made a few white loaves, but we prefer the wholemeal. For some reason it turns out softer and less dense than the white (though the white is perfectly acceptable). I have experimented a bit and made a wholemeal loaf with sunflower seeds and linseeds. I also made one yesterday with mashed pumpkin and sunflower seeds in it -- it was yum !
I bought a new sewing machine too while I was on holidays. It's a basic Singer machine, and was a bargain at $159 (saw it on special at another place for $179 !). Today I used it for the first time and mended a baby blanket and a cot sheet. Not a major achievement I know, but I am quite proud of my efforts and am inspired to make some little baby clothes now.
Since my all-day-sickness has gone and I am feeling MUCH better, I have begun to do some scrapbooking again. I have made a few cards and a layout and altered frame with one of our ultrasound pictures in it (see above). I think when I am settled back into work I will re-join the Craft Attic Design Team. Debra said she would love to have me back, so I am very lucky there ! I had my first midwife appointment this week. I have opted to see a midwife as opposed to my GP. She didn't weigh me, so I don't know how much weight I have gained (probably a good thing ! hehehe), but the baby has a good, strong heartbeat and my fundal height (top of the uterus) is where it should be. I don't have to go back for another 10 weeks unless I have any concerns. We have another ultrasound on January 31st, so stay tuned for 3D pics of Bubba !
Anyway, that's about it from us for now. We hope you are all well and happy. Don't forget that you can click on the "Comments" link below and leave us a message -- we love hearing from you all !
Love from Cindy, Elliot, Toby & Bubba
