Last night Toby had his school concert. He was a 'dancer' and wore this lovely outfit...isn't he pretty ? He also had the petticoat underneath, and wore bright red lipstick !! ROFL
A couple of weeks ago I went to pick him up from school and he didn't meet me where he was supposed to. Assuming he had forgotten the change of pickup location for that day, I walked over to our usual meeting point to get him. There he was, wearing his skirt, twirling around so his skirt would fly up ! I asked him what on earth he was doing wearing a dress, and he said "It's NOT a dress, it's a SKIRT !". He also informed me that it was his costume for the school play. All that night he refused to take his skirt off, and was continually dancing around the living room and doing twirls. He said that his teacher had said he could get his mum to make the skirt into a pair of shorts, but he decided he would just wear the skirt. He and another boy were the only male dancers.
So last night, we're watching the concert, and out comes a line of dancers from each side of the stage (the scene reminded me of Swan Lake where the girls flutter onto the stage). There amongst the girls, was our gorgeous Toby and his friend fluttering like butterflies, and wearing bright purple skirts and bright red lipstick !! The whole audience burst into laughter.
From all around me I could hear "that's two boys wearing skirts !". I told the old lady next to me that one of those boys was my son. She asked how he felt about having to wear a skirt, and I replied that it was his idea. She thought that was great. I was so proud of him that he didn't care what other people thought of him. And for the record, he is in no way effeminate...he just likes showing off (and wearing skirts !) ROFL.
I managed to get lots of pics, so I can see a multi-photo layout coming up !! I will post some more pics of him in action on stage over the weekend when I reduce the filesizes.
