Kade's vocabulary has really increased over the past few weeks. This morning he was saying goodbye to Toby [when Toby went to school] and he said "bye" in his cute little voice, and then did the Auslan sign for 'brother'. So...in effect, he was saying "bye Toby".
Then, at 1pm he decided it was nap time. He got Blankie then came to me and said 'bed bed' and 'room' (sounded like : be be oom). When I asked him if it was time for bed he said yes and leaned forward to give me a kiss goodnight. When I lifted him over the safety gate he ran to his room and was very happy to hop into bed :)
Anyway...I think it's very clever that he is joining words to make phrases, and that he is combining verbal language with sign language for words he cannot verbalise yet.
