Latest Layout

I've had quite a productive past couple of days. Yesterday I designed the newsletter for JSJ (first edition due out next week I think). Today I made my very first blinkie (for JSJ), and I also finally finished my pirate layout.

I had originally designed the layout for a photo of Elliot dressed up as a pirate when he was little, but he can't find the pic, so I was forced to improvise. Just to get the layout finished I thought I would use a stock photo that I found online...and then I thought I could maybe put Kade's head on the kid's body. So I did...

Here is the original photo and the edited version :

And this is my completed layout, plus some close-ups to show detail. The layout was for a challenge at JSJ and required paint, chipboard and bling.
I used Tim Holtz Crackle paint (colour = burlap) on my grungeboard (in lieu of chipboard) skull, and the bling is in the eyes of the skull, and in the top right corner. I hand drew the compass lightly with a Zig marker and then sanded the cardstock a bit to distress it. The title is cut with my craft robo (font = Caribbean Island), matted, and inked to look burnt around the edges. I also matted the grungeboard skull to help make him pop of the page.

I'm hoping to break my scrapping drough which has been going since July, this Thursday... Your creativeness is rubbing off towards me a little... good good... You are so creative, so inspirational... top stuff you have made.
Congratulations on your winning shoes for Toby...
Too cute that Kade is snatching his big brother's girlfriend....LOL
How & where do you get the time to make all this stuff??? I'm struggling to get one layout done... I do have an oasis of a garden though & just a few sneaky weeds that are at least a meter high from growing through the plants...lol I bought some pretty ribbon to get me going... too pretty for Jason but will hope to get another layout of me done. Talk to you soon...

QUOTE : How & where do you get the time to make all this stuff???

For some strange reason everything I've made has only taken a few hours at most. It also helps that I sit up to 1 or 2am... If I can scrap while Kade is sleeping during the day, I do that too.

Sometimes I will take days to do a LO (like with 'boy pirate') and just do a bit here and there as I walk past my desk.

thats why I've been doing the LO a day challenge on "Big Picture Scrapbooking" to get the creative juices flowing.. 90% of them I'm happy with but at least I'm scrapping..love the lo Cin as I've said but I'm confused u mentioned an element as chipboard, I thought it was stamps...will have a look later, still feeling ill :(..

Whoa! That's spooky how good that photoshop hack job is. I would swear Kade was actually wearing that pirate outfit.

Love the final page too, especially the wonky doodled lines (you know how much I like wonky things - lol)
