Well, another Easter has been and gone. Because we are all sick with colds we didn't do much, though yesterday (Monday) we went for a drive to Warburton and had a picnic lunch. It was a beautiful day and we had a nice walk along the river.
Here are a few pics of Kade opening and eating his first Easter Egg, and a couple of Toby in Warburton.
I expected Kade to wear more Easter Egg than he ate, but he only ended up with a tiny dribble of chocolate on his chin. I also thought he'd shove the whole thing in his mouth, but he broke the egg into pieces and ate it slowly and carefully.
Here is Toby trying to fish a coin out of the river without falling in (he didn't manage either LOL).
In other news...I have just applied online for a new job at McDonalds !! :) I have applied for evening shifts so that I don't have to put Kade into care. The store is also only 10 mins away (at most) too, so that's handy. I hope I can pick up a few shifts per week (should hear within 48 hours).
I have an appointment with a local solicitor tomorrow regarding my Unlawful Dismissal case.
For those who don't know, I was made 'redundant' 6 weeks before I was due to return to work from Maternity Leave. I received a letter from my boss saying that my job no-longer existed, but that I could jobshare with my replacemement (who has a 40-hour per week job) and I could do *up to* 5 hours per day, 2 days per week. When I replied to the letter and advised my (ex) employer of his legal obligations (as per advice from a WorkChoices rep), I was sent a letter by my employer's solicitor telling me that actually I was made 'redundant' at the start of my maternity leave and that the offer of casual work has been withdrawn.
I have an 'Unlawful Dismissal' claim form filled out and ready to send to the Industrial Relations Commission, and I will be doing everything I can to ensure that my (ex) employer realises that what he has done is AGAINST THE LAW and WRONG ! I will take this to the Federal Magistrates Court (with a discrimination claim) if I have to to make him see that he can't DO this !
I have contacted various government organisations and representatives, workers rights organisations, and a tv show in a bid to be heard. I am still extremely hurt by what's happened, but I will not let it rest. I just can't believe that after 8 years off 100% commitment and honesty I was treated like this. He is so gutless that he couldn't even telephone me to discuss the issue, he just paid his solicitors to do his dirty work.
I do not want or expect my job back now, not after this, but maybe he will learn a thing or two from the experience. So many women are bullied into this very situation and don't know what to do about it, so I am trying to make a difference. Wish me luck !

love the pics of Kade and Toby... best of luck with your solicitor and the unfair dismissal claim... nobody deserves to be treated like that and I am proud you're standing up for your rights.
good luck Cindy, I hope it all works out in your favour as that is just so wrong.
Love the piccies :-D
